ACADEMICS

Academic Excellence Rooted in Christ

Watch your child discover their place in God’s story.

Imagine your child thriving in learning activities that are shaped by intentional Christian discipleship and grounded in the wisdom of Scripture. In a safe and caring environment, students become courageous learners who pursue God’s kingdom through academic growth, inquiry-based exploration, integrated arts and sciences, and meaningful time outdoors. Here, faith and curiosity work together to help children recognize, appreciate, and respond to God’s calling in their lives.

Is your child ready to step into the next chapter God is shaping?

Responsive Christian Discipleship

At ACCS, students are called to participate in the story that God has established. Learning in a Christian worldview is holistic: it forms the mind, shapes the heart, and equips the hands. It invites students to understand and critique ideas, to appreciate creation as God’s gift, and to act responsibly in loving service to God and neighbour. Rather than treating learning as mere mastery or utility, this approach nurtures gratitude, character, and wisdom through intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth, recognising that true formation flows from the desires of the heart into thoughtful action. Students are being nurtured to embrace a Christian faith that grows from the heart and expresses itself in how they live. Responsive Discipleship invites our students to participate in the narrative that God is directing. We’re ready to work together to love God and others while we develop and steward God’s creation.

Foundational Skills & Academic Excellence

ACCS is led by Ontario Certified Teachers who bring the Ontario Curriculum to life through a distinctly Christian lens. Every classroom is shaped by the Teaching for Transformation framework, where inquiry-based learning, Biblical throughlines, and our Deep Hope guide students to grow in their faith and understanding.

We’re teaching foundational learning skills and academic excellence by setting high expectations while honouring each child’s unique learning needs. With dedicated student support services, every student is equipped to thrive on their journey of learning and discipleship.

Courageous Learning Spaces

A courageous learning space is more than a classroom ethos - it’s a community commitment to helping students grow stronger, kinder, and more resilient. At ACCS, learners are invited to stretch their grit and determination, to take healthy risks, and to persevere through challenges with the support of caring teachers and peers. Courage isn’t only about personal toughness; it’s also the bravery to build a school where everyone feels safe, valued and seen. By nurturing empathy, accountability, and justice-seeking habits, courageous spaces empower students to stand up for themselves and for one another, shaping a learning environment where resilience and belonging thrive side by side.

Inquiry-Based Projects

ACCS approaches all subjects through a distinctly biblical lens, seeing every subject as part of God’s good creation and every project as an invitation to worship through curiosity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving. Ask us about our approach to Project-Based Learning (PBL) through inquiry-based FLEx project-designs! Our students complete assignments while engaging in meaningful work that reflects God’s character: creativity in design, order in mathematics, stewardship in science, beauty in the arts, and innovation in technology. As they investigate real-world challenges, collaborate with peers, and build solutions that serve others, our students learn that their minds and hands are gifts meant to participate in God’s ongoing work of restoration. This approach forms not only skilled thinkers but faithful disciples who understand that learning itself is an act of discipleship and a way to love God and neighbour.

Outdoor Education

Our 25-acre campus is a living classroom where God’s creation becomes our curriculum. Outdoor learning offers a breath of fresh air - literally and figuratively for today’s technology-focussed generation, giving students opportunities to learn through direct engagement with the natural world. Whether studying ecosystems in wetland, hiking through our forested valley, or tending to field-based projects, students develop curiosity and resilience. Seasonal activities like tapping maple trees and boiling sap into maple syrup introduce students to local heritage and sustainability practices, while canoe-certification opportunities at Earl Rowe Provincial Park help our students grow in leadership and safety awareness. Our Christian worldview shapes each experience, encouraging students to see creation as a gift to explore and care for.

Worship-Filled Artistic Expression

As students grow in their artistic gifts, they are invited to sing, play instruments, create visual art, and participate in dramatic presentations. These experiences nurture collaboration, focus, and joyful expression as part of our Christian faith. In the classroom and during our all-school chapels, children learn to understand music as an act of praise that shapes their hearts and minds to be attentive to the Holy Spirit’s leading. Through our award‑winning band program, students also take part in concerts and music festivals, gaining confidence and a sense of purpose. Over time, these opportunities help them recognize that they are active participants in God’s redemptive story, using their voices and talents to bring beauty, hope, and truth into the world.
