March has been a busy month in grade 3/4.  We have been learning so much in all our subjects but have been especially enjoying science.  In our unit about strong and stable structures we learned that triangles are stable shapes that help keep buildings and bridges strong.   We also found that round paper columns are stronger that square or triangular ones.  In one of our experiments a piece of cardstock rolled into a tube was able to support 100 books!  We have first-hand experience in seeing erosion happen as we watched how melting snow created a stream that carved a mini ravine on its way down the hill in our forest.   In our discussion about how soil is made we decided to speed up the weathering process by crushing rock which is an important component of soil. We have been amazed at how humans, as God’s image-bearers, are able to discover and use laws of science that God created to design, build, and grow amazing things.
