Dear Parents and Friends,
By now you have all heard that our “March Break” has been moved to April 12-16. We hope you are able to make alternate plans for your family! We apologize for any inconvenience that has caused you.

On the ACCS news front, the Sommer has had exciting news in their family with the birth of their first grandson, Krew Wesley, this past Monday morning! What a blessing he is! We will do our best to recruit him for the 2025 JK class! We also welcome the Desroche (Shannon and Joel) family with Alden in Grade 3 and Isla in Grade 1, as well as the Bachur family (David and Karina), with Samuel in SK! Wednesday’s chapel last week started us off in our Missions Emphasis Weeks, with a special focus on missions over the four consecutive Wednesdays. May God bless that to make us desire to go or send, spend and pray for missions!

Last week, we considered Return of Christ based on 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” I hope that encouraged you to look beyond the present to the glorious future!

Let’s take a moment now to consider Colossians 2:6, 7 “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” The challenge here for us as co-educators (in home and school), is to 1) make sure our lives are consistent with our teaching and practice; 2) make sure we are actually rooted in Him, first by receiving Christ; and abound in thanksgiving!

Reflecting on our French instruction (beginning in Kindergarten!) and its aim to make French conversational and enjoyable, I say we are blessed. Teachers are doing a great job of this and, from what I can tell, students enjoy French at ACCS! The three keys, they say are to make it fun with songs, games, stories and puppets; manage expectations using rewards and by breaking complicated ideas into small chunks; and let them move–outside and beyond the school!

We have seen a few new testimonials on our website–very encouraging! Here is one:
Amazing for our kids! When it was time for my first child to go to school, I was nervous about sending him off to kindergarten. We met personally with the principal who answered all my questions from curriculum to music, language and theology. After observing the kindergarten class I was impressed with the respectful and peaceful atmosphere and I was convinced that my first born would be at home here at ACCS. I am happy to say that all of my children now attend ACCS and are growing physically, intellectually and spiritually everyday.

Have you heard? The oldest living tree in the world is in California, and is around 4,843 years old!
And, for the Canadian trivia fact… Churchill, Manitoba sees one of the largest annual polar bear migrations. The world just would not be the same without that!

How would you respond to this quotation?
William Wordsworth said, “Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.” Would that be as good a teacher as the Word?

Prayer Corner:
Do you want to change the world? Pray for  Italy.
Heavenly Father,
Some wounds only You can salve. I ask You to calm the racial tensions in the world. Bring peace and understanding to our communities. Saturate our nations with love only possible through You. Give leaders wisdom and spark believers across the country to lead the way to harmony by example. We commit to You our librarians too–give them joy and continued unity and love for ACCS. Blessing and honour be to You for our students who try their best to be friendly to other students–even if they are not their close friends; it’s wonderful to see, and we do not take it for granted. Thank You for two new families this week; let them feel loved and welcome! Grant peace and blessing also for our upcoming Board meeting. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
